My name is Jennifer Figueredo. I opened Little Inspirations Family Childcare in 1992. As a graduate of Salem State University in 1987, I had worked in a center based childcare setting, was a nanny, and a substitute teacher. I set a goal for myself that I wanted to utilize my teaching degree and have a family where I was able to stay at home with my children. I became a “Mom” in 1996 to identical twin boys. I had been doing family childcare for about four years when they were born. I had established my business and was able to be home to raise
my children.
I had reached my goal. Working with children is a gift. I have been blessed for many years in caring for children in a mixed age group setting. I am now caring for a second generation. This is such an honor! My experience as a Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Lay Assistant to my church, and Child Care Support Group President has also provided me with opportunities of leadership. At Little Inspirations, children gain hands on experiences that provides them learning through play, problem solving, nature, and academics. A planned curriculum which fosters all areas of development includes Sign Language and Spanish. A positive self-esteem is crucial for children. Through guidance and structure, as well as flexibility, children are empowered to be the best they can be.
